Household energy bills set to be £1,800 in 2023, analysis finds
UK households are facing annual energy bills of £1,800 as far out as the summer of 2023, according to analysis of financial market futures for Â鶹ԼÅÄ Newsnight.

The energy regulator Ofgem is expected to raise the household energy price cap affecting a typical household by around £700 a year from April, reflecting the spiking wholesale price of natural gas last year.

That would take the annual standard tariff fromÌý£1,277Ìýto £1,900 and impose a severe financial squeeze on UK households, pushing hundreds of thousands of people into fuel povertyÌýaccording to charities.
