Jamie Campbell tells the story of the musical that he inspired: Everybody's Talking About Jamie.
From a Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ 3 documentary to the stage of The Crucible theatre, The West End and beyond - this is a truly inspiring story.
Using material from Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Sheffield's archives and new interviews recorded for this programme, we hear the inside story of the musical. What has Michael Ball got to do with our story? What happened at the public dress rehearsal that shocked everyone? And where do the Sheffield accents come from?
The creative team Jonathan Butterell, Tom MacRae and Dan Gillespie Sells explain the process of writing a musical inspired by real-life events, and we hear from Jamie's mum Margaret about the impact it's had on her life.
We also hear how the musical became a film that was shot all over Sheffield, heading to Crookes Working Men's Club which became the host of drag club "Legs Eleven" and the Attercliffe framing shop that becomes "Victor's Secret!"
The Magic of Jamie is produced by Dan Green, with huge thanks to everybody who contributed.
