Misophonia
We're all familiar with the sensation of nails down a chalkboard, an unpleasant noise that elicits an extreme and involuntary negative action. For me (like many others who identify as Misophonia sufferers) such seemingly innocuous human noises like chewing, sipping or heavy breathing trigger an immediate fight-or-flight response. It is a daily irritation, so inescapable and banal in its cruelty that many refer to the condition as being 'allergic to sound'. This animated short aims to illustrate and explore the world of misophonia in all its lip-smacking and crisp-munching glory, following our narrator as he seeks to come to terms with this condition that plagues his everyday life.
