Living with obesity - the mental health burden
India shares her story - as new research for the ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ highlights the mental health anguish that thousands of people living with obesity feel everyday.
This is a story that affects many thousands of people across the UK. Itβs about obesity - and specifically about the mental health impact of living with the shame and stigma that it can bring. This comes as a survey by Ipsos Mori for the ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ found that those who are severely overweight have the poorest mental health and feel embarrassment and despair when they look in the mirror.
The job of the ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ correspondent, Jeremy Cooke, is to share stories about people and issues that often go un-noticed. We say theyβre βhiding in plain sightβ. In this edition of 5 Minutes On, he shares India's journey - a story of anguish and hope.
