Emma Vardy introduces nine short films celebrating for Book Week 2021, featuring fun conversation, book recommendations and childhood memories of reading. Book Week 2021 is a joint initiative between the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ and Libraries NI. It will include interviews, features and reports across the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ and lots of library-based activities as well. Those taking part this year include Stephen Nolan, the Children’s Commissioner Koulla Yiasouma, Crime NI’s Dearbhail McDonald and Wendy Austin, Tara Mills, Declan Harvey and William Crawley from Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Ulster, former Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Ireland Correspondent Denis Murray, Paula McIntyre, Tim McGarry and David Hume from Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Ulster’s The Long and The Short of It, Tricia and Cara Mailey, and Fr Martin Magill and Rev Steve Stockman.

We hear about how books can provide comfort, inspiration and escape - helping us to understand ourselves and each other and to make the autumn evenings brighter. An eclectic and very personal selection of book recommendations that has something for everyone.
