'Stop, hang up, call 159'
Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis explained to Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ 5 Live's Nihal Arthanayake what people can do to avoid falling victim to scam and fraud phone calls.
He introduced Stop Scam UK's helpline that you can ring if you're unsure about a call you are receiving.
"If someone calls you from your 'bank', and you're not sure it really is your bank, you don't have to go panicking around trying to find the number or dial the number they've given you - you just dial 159," he said.
"I would give a slight warning...to be totally safe, it's always best to use another phone to dial 159."
