A community mental health nurse from Weymouth has thanked those who backed a crowdfunding campaign to pay for a final visit to see her terminally ill sister in Australia.

Tracy Walker's sister Kim got a terminal cancer diagnosis in 2020. Kim, who's originally from Weymouth, was living in Australia.

Having not seen her for four years, Tracy was desperate to spend some final time with her.

A crowdfunder - launched by Tracy's NHS colleagues in the Weymouth and Portland community mental health team - raised the money to pay for her to battle Covid travel restrictions and the cost of quarantine.

The journey wasn't a smooth one either, with travel to Australia almost impossible at the time and Tracy initially being refused permission to board the original plane she'd been booked on.

In April, Tracy travelled to Perth and got to spend a few weeks with her sister. Sadly, at the weekend, Tracy got the news that her sister had died.

Tracy's been keeping an audio diary for 麻豆约拍 Radio Solent. In this latest episode, Tracy talks about the trip, the final memories and thanks the people that got her there.
