Community campaign to save Piddle Valley pub

A campaign to save a pub at the heart of the Piddle Valley community in Dorset has been launched.
Last year, the Piddle Inn at Piddletrenthide called 'last orders' one final time and closed its doors to customers at the start of the coronavirus pandemic. It was sold to a new owner in November 2020.
The decision dismayed many locals, and the pub has since been registered as an Asset of Community Value with Dorset Council.
But the new owner has appealed, saying the pub wasn't overly popular and had been going downhill for some time.
Piddle Valley Parish Council has agreed to head up a group, to include local residents, to progress and investigate the campaign to keep the Piddle Inn as a community pub for the Piddle Valley.
Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Solent reporter Laurence Herdman met up with 'Save the Piddle Inn' campaigner Lynn Mailer and local resident Keith Allen, who bought his house to be near the pub.
