‘I feel abandoned’: Afghans promised safety in the UK left behind
The death toll from Thursday's suicide bombing in Kabul has reached 170.
For many that brutal assault and the sealing of airport gates that followed it, finished off their hopes of escape.
Emir Nader has been talking to people now in hiding, living in fear of violence from the Taliban.
The Foreign Office told Newsnight they have evacuated more than 13,700 people from Afghanistan in the past fortnight and that some of those arriving in the UK include this year’s Afghan Chevening scholars.
