The Swindon Honda plant stopped production on 30 July, 2021, after more than 35 years in the town. In this special, Dan O'Brien looks at the history of the company in the town.
The Swindon car plant, Honda stopped production on July 30, 2021, after 35 years. The factory was established in 1985 and made 3.7 million cars. The Japanese car maker is moving production of its electric cars to Japan, which has a bigger market. More than 3,500 jobs are being lost. What does it mean for the local economy?
