Anita Neil: Britain's forgotten Olympian (2021)
Jeanette Kwakye shares the story of Anita Neil, who now aged 71, has been officially recognised as Britain's first black female Olympian.
It has taken 53 years for Anita Neil to be officially recognised as Britain's first black female Olympian.
In her career she set British running records, won medals in the European Championships and Commonwealth games, and competed in the 1968 Mexico and 1972 Munich Olympics.
It's only now - at the age of 71 - that's she's been officially recognised.
As Team GB takes part in action in Tokyo, broadcaster and Olympic athlete Jeanette Kwakye tells the remarkable story of this pioneering Olympian.
