With the long-awaited Tokyo games now under way, it felt only right that we catch up with some of the athletes who are out representing our nation. As a two-time winter Olympian, she knows just how it feels, so is buzzing to introduce you to some of Team GB’s finest, as they have their shot at Olympic gold.
After whipping around the country to meet up with the likes of Tom Daley, Helen Glover and Adam Gemili, Aimee is now going to connect with members of Team GB as they settle into life within the camp in Japan, to give you an insider’s view of life as an Olympian.
In this episode Aimee catches up with two of Team GB cycling team, first up is Declan Brooks, not only making his own Olympic debut appearance, but so is his discipline of BMX freestyle. Declan backed up the BMX team’s achievements on the track by bringing home a bronze medal. Aimee chats GB success in the BMX and how he’s been celebrating.
Aimee is also joined by Philip Hindes, a guy who is no stranger to collecting Olympic medals on two wheels, after defending his team sprint title in Rio 2016 he is now joining Team GB in Tokyo as a travelling reserve. He explains how the team have been leaning on his experience and what its like to have a Jason Kenny in your team.
