Is raising taxes the best solution to fix the UK’s social care crisis?

Plans to overhaul the social care system in the UK have been shelved until the autumn.

Two years ago Boris Johnson stood on the steps of Downing Street promising his plan to fix the social care crisis was ready to go.

The government is also rumoured to be considering a 1% increase to national insurance to fund the system.

What are we prepared to pay to fund social care? And would an increase to national insurance be the best solution?
