Space Shuttle lessons for SpaceX and Blue Origin

10 years ago this week NASA's last ever Space Shuttle mission ended asAtlantis landed.

The project to create a reusable craft to put satellites in orbit has provided a valuable lesson for companies like SpaceX founded Elon Musk, Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic and Blue Origin led by Jeff Bezos.

These private firms operate reusable rockets to fly astronauts to the International Space Station or take rich people into space.

Doctor David Whitehouse, a scientist and author of Space 2069, tells the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's Russell Padmore about the influence of NASA's Space Shuttle on companies investing in space travel.
