In March 2020, clubs shut and haven’t opened at any point during the pandemic in England. This has led to huge uncertainty, debt for many and the constant fear they may not survive.
'We were the first to close, the last to reopen and we feel abandoned.' That’s the constant message from those that work in dance music.
We’re there every step of the way with the Welly Club in Hull, a fixture of the city’s nightlife for more than 100 years. Can it fight back after Covid sent it out of business?
The Blessed Madonna and Fred Again said, 'This year we've had to lose our space, we've lost dancing. We've lost the hugs with friends and people that we loved. What comes next will be marvellous.'
