Scotland's housing crisis
A place to call home. We all need one but for many people, they are increasingly hard to find. Across Scotland, rents and house prices are rising all the time.
Wages though, are barely moving and charities say this is heating up an already urgent housing crisis. More than 35,000 Scottish households registered as homeless in the past year alone.
In a special report, our social affairs correspondent Chris Clements looks at the extent of the problem in Edinburgh, where 5,000 households are currently homeless. Unable to keep up with rent rises or find anywhere affordable to live in the city, thousands of people are finding themselves in temporary housing organised by the council. And with so few permanent homes available, a growing number of families are stuck there.
