What role is the UK playing to help increase global vaccine supply?
As the global fight to curb Covid-19 continues, is the UK helping or hindering the push to remove vaccine patents and increase access for low income countries?
During next monthβs G7 Leaders Summit in June, the UK government is expected to discuss vaccine inequality and the need to improve access to doses in developing countries.
But Newnight has seen a letter to the Prime Minister from leading charities complaining that only a select group of wealthy nations and industry are drawing up the blueprint - excluding those nations worst hot by a lack of vaccines.
They have called for the UK to follow US President Joe Bidenβs decision to back waiving intellectual property rights on Covid-19 vaccines.
