Angelica Sanchez - Piece for Piano and Moog
"I have always loved the sound and versatility of the Moog synthesizer," Sanchez says. "I own a Moog Little Phatty and have been experimenting with blending the acoustic sound of piano and the electric sound of the Moog.
"I live in an urban city where there is a nature walk right next to a busy highway. On the trail, you hear the sounds of birds, wind in the tall grass, the ebb and flow of water and small animals. This happens over the backdrop of the low hum of the highway. Both city sounds and nature create a soup of sound. This inspired me to compose a piece for piano and Moog. I love the dichotomy of sounds and how they work together to create a new universe."
