Hong Kong's Joshua Wong given new jail sentence

Pro-democracy activist Joshua Wong has been given more time in jail this time for protesting about the 1989 Tiananmen massacre. He pleaded guilty to taking part in an 'unauthorised assembly' last June, and he's been given an additional 10 months in jail. Joshua Wong is one of many already in jail for other pro-democracy protests in 2019. The media tycoon Jimmy Lai is also in jail at the moment. So what effect is this having in Hong Kong? Tom Grundy is Editor-in-Chief and Founder of Hong Kong Free Press - a non for profit news organisation in Hong Kong.
