For many of us, our dog is more than just a pet, but in Scotland, stealing someone鈥檚 animal carries the same penalty as stealing their phone or wallet.

Now campaigners are calling for dognapping to be recognised as a stand alone crime, to better reflect the impact it has on victims. The Nine's Hazel Martin reports.
