Covid: Is India’s second wave driven by a new variant?
Could a second Covid wave in India be driven by variant B1.6.17, also known as the ‘double mutant’? Epidemiologist Dr Ramanan Laxminarayan explains what scientists know so far.
We also hear from virologist Prof Ravindra Gupta, who is studying the variant to try and determine whether it is more transmissible.
