Weymouth archeology dig reveals medieval building
This week, a project was launched to help establish the historical origins and development of Weymouth.
Archaeologists are half way through a two-week dig on the site of a famous bloody battle during the Civil War in 1645. The medieval High Street runs behind the former Weymouth and Portland Borough Council.
Dorset Council has commissioned south west heritage and archaeology specialists Context One to dig four exploratory trenches.
