Why African countries want new currencies
A single currency for countries in East and West Africa would make regional trade smoother, by doing away with the constant need for cross border businesses to change currencies, often losing money in the process. ECOWAS nations and the member countries of the East African Community are planning to introduce new single currencies as their economies become more integrated. The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's Russell Padmore discusses the policy with African business leaders and economists.
