Sonic-boom noise could’ve been a meteor
Did you hear a huge sound around 3pm on Saturday 20th March?
A sonic boom-type noise was heard across the south west of England which made homes and windows shake.
The huge bang lasted several seconds and was heard in parts of Somerset, Dorset and Devon.
A Ministry of Defence spokeswoman said the noise was not believed to be linked to any RAF aircraft.
So what caused the sound?
Astronomer Will Gater had a chat to Vicki Clark on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Somerset about his thoughts and how it could have been a meteor bolide.
