Is the chancellor 'playing politics' with the levelling up fund?
Chancellor Rishi Sunak announced Β£1bn towards 45 areas of England to help to "level up" towns and aid recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.
The list of places receiving money from theΒ Towns FundΒ is dominated by the north west, Yorkshire and the Midlands.
But the majority of towns which will receive a share of the fund are represented by Tory MPs.
Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer has accused ministers of favouring Conservative areas for funding and said the regeneration money announced "looks fishy" because the large majority are represented by Tory MPs.
