Policing organisations to investigate police ‘failures’ of BAME sexual abuse victims
Three major policing organisations will investigate how the police deals with sexual abuse victims from ethnic minority backgrounds, after a super-complaint by Tees Valley Inclusion Project, written by the Halo project.
The super-complaint details key failures in police responses to reports of sexual abuse within the BAME community.
Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services, the Independent Office for Police Conduct and the College of Policing will investigate police responses and report their findings.
The police super-complaints system allows organisations and charities to raise issues on behalf of the public about harmful patterns or trends in policing.
