Edna Clyne-Rekhy is a Scottish artist on a mission to save the planet. Whether it's an empty biscuit box, a used milk bottle or an empty dog food tin, Edna can see value where others can't. From her home in Inverness, she takes old rubbish and gives it a new lease of life. She has turned cardboard tubes into stationery holders, made washing-up bottles into beautiful ceramic-style hanging baskets and transformed stones she found on the beach into aides that helped with her late husband's dementia. Born in the 1940s, she inherited her resourcefulness form her mother and her passion for art from her father, who was a skilled artist and craftsman. Edna hopes to inspire young people to reuse and recycle, and often gives talks on the dangers of throw-away consumer culture.
