Dog return amazes family after week down a hole - "We had completely given up hope"
At what point do you give up hope when your dog's gone missing?
One four-legged friend from Charlton near Shaftesbury turned up after nearly a week away.
Porridge, the 3 year old Cairn terrier made a beeline for a badger sett in a field last Tuesday, and disappeared down a hole. Despite extraordinary search efforts that included the RSPCA and the fire brigade, as the days passed by, his owners feared the worst.
Nearly a week later, to the amazement of his owners, Porridge turned up barking on the doorstep in the early hours.
Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Solent reporter Laurence Herdman met three delighted generations of the same family - Susie, the owner of Porridge, granddaughters Molly and Willa, and first mum Flora Harvey.
