19. Livestreaming Killer: Would you kill for fame?
17 year old Bianca Devinsβ death was brutally broadcast online
Early one morning in July 2019, Brandon Clark used his online platform to share graphic photos with his followers, including a photo that appeared to show a womanβs bloodied torso, captioned βIβm sorry Biancaβ.
Not long after this, police found Brandon lying on top of a green tarp. He had spray-painted the words βMay you never forget meβ on the ground. He had killed 17-year-old βmicro-influencerβ Bianca Devins.
Why did he choose to broadcast her murder? Sofie Hagen and Dr Julia Shaw discuss βe-girlsβ, research on jealousy and male proprietariness, and what we need to consider to avoid similar horrific acts happening in the future.
Warning: Contains strong language and references to violence and murder.
