Deadly attack in western Niger
Suspected Islamist militants have attacked two villages in western Niger, with reports that up to one hundred civilians have been killed. It is one of the deadliest days in living memory, as Niger grapples with ethnic violence and Islamist militancy. No group has said it carried out the attacks. The UNHCR Niger spokesman is Jean-Sebastien Josset, he's in the capital Niamey.
