Nigeria school attack: Hundreds of boys freed

Hundreds of schoolboys kidnapped last week from a boarding school in the north-west of Nigeria have been released. The kidnapping had prompted comparisons with the abduction of schoolgirls in Chibok 6 years ago, many of whom are still missing.

This time the authorities seem to have been much more successful in getting the pupils back. Just hours after the Islamist group Boko Haram put out a video apparently showing some of the boys, the governor of Katsina state, Aminu Bello Masari announced the good news, as the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's Nigeria correspondent Mayeni Jones told Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Newsday.
