Can the UK conduct 500k coronavirus tests a day?
The prime minister pledged to hit half a million tests a day in the UK by the end of October. But does the UK have capacity to conduct and process enough tests to achieve this goal?
In July the government rolled out regular testing for staff and residents in care homes as part of its strategy to better protect the vulnerable from Covid-19.
One social care charity tells Newsnight theyβve started to arrange their own coronavirus tests for staff and residents, after concern and frustration from the national testing system.
