US election: Could Florida’s retirees decide the next president?
As the US election enters its final furlong, does the key to the White House hang on Florida’s retirees?
With only days to go until the election, the Biden and Trump campaigns should have, by now, set out their offer to all key demographics.
Of the 150m people who are expected to have voted by 3 November, there is no demographic more important than retirees.
The number of post-war baby boomers could swing the outcome of the election in several key states, not least Florida, where Donald Trump won by just one percent in 2016.
At the moment Florida polls are leaning towards Joe Biden, but the early advantage by no means assures a win.
