Are future waves of Covid-19 inevitable?
Previous pandemics often follow a pattern with several waves of infection and later waves can be bigger than the first. Could the Covid-19 pandemic follow a similar course? And what's the difference between a 'spike' and 'wave'? Scientists are keeping a close eye on lots of mutations to the virus in case it develops into a strain with the potential to trigger even bigger waves.
