Margaret Keane Memorial
Have you ever thought about what you would like on your gravestone? Or on the gravestone of a loved one?
It can be a deeply personal decision but as one family in Coventry has discovered, it might not be entirely your own.
It's two years to the day since Margaret Keane's death. She was born in Ireland, but lived most of her life in Coventry. Margaret is buried at St Giles' in Exhall. Her family has been told they can only have a Gaelic inscription if there's an English translation too, but the family say it doesn't "truly represent" their Irish mum's spirit. The Church of England decided the inscription without translation could be viewed as "a political statement". The family is now taking legal action to get the decision overturned.
Lorna spoke to Margaret's daughter Bez, Reverend Gail Phillips, the Vicar at St Giles in Exhall and Paul Handley, the editor of the Church Times, an independent Anglican newspaper.
