In the dead of night, a writer struggles to meet his deadline. As a last resort, to break through his writer鈥檚 block, he vows to kill off his heroine. He sends a fictional private detective called Charlie into his story to commit the deed. As Charlie attempts to find the woman, he realises that he too might be in danger and struggles to escape the clutches of his creator鈥檚 imagination.

There ensues a desperate attempt to construct an alternative storyline, to force the narrative in a new direction. On his journey, Charlie meets a nightclub bouncer, a jogger, a gangster and, finally, the elusive heroine in an abandoned underground station. Together they make a final bid for freedom.

Filmed in Lockdown is a series of new works of literary, musical, visual, and performance arts, commissioned for Culture in Quarantine by Arts Council England and 麻豆约拍 Arts.
