Lockdown: PM threatens clamp down on gatherings, but is it a losing battle?
The police and government warn they will clamp down if mass gatherings continue. But is the government fighting a losing battle to keep any vestige of lockdown in place?
UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has urged people to recognise the ongoing risks from coronavirus, as lockdown measures are increasingly eased.
The PM further warned that people needed to understand that too much mingling could set the UK back, adding that people in other countries had been "taking too many liberties with the guidance" as lockdown rules eased.
As of Friday 26th June, the total death toll among people with a confirmed test for Covid-19 in the UK stands at 43,414.
