Getting my huskies home during the coronavirus pandemic

This year’s Iditarod in Alaska (the world’s oldest and biggest dog sled race) was won by Norwegian dog musher Thomas Waerner after 10 days arduous racing back in March. But after his victory things started to unravel fast. Even as Thomas was racing, Alaska was in the process of locking down because of coronavirus, and he was left stuck in Alaska with 16 dogs.

Now – after being stuck there for more than 10 weeks – he's finally got home, but only after hitching a ride in a 1950s aircraft.
