Black Lives Matter: Trisha Goddard on racism, diversity in TV and Bo' Selecta
TV presenter Trisha Goddard talks to Newsnight's Emma Barnett about being a black broadcaster, the racist abuse she has received and the Boβ Selecta portrayal of her between 2002-2004.
The League of Gentlemen, Little Britain, Come Fly with Me, The Mighty Boosh and Boβ Selecta have all been removed this week from some streaming services - including the ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ iPlayer and Netflix - because of their use of blackface.
This follows two statues of slave traders coming down in Britain after a wave of Black Lives Matter protests around the world in the wake of George Floyd's death at the hands of a US police officer.
TV presenter Trisha Goddard - one of the people impersonated in Channel 4's Boβ Selecta between 2002-2004 by white comedian Leigh Francis - is interviewed by Emma Barnett.
