Coronavirus: Why dementia sufferers are dying at an alarming rate
A quarter of those who have died from coronavirus have had dementia, making it the most common pre-existing condition for deaths (alongside diabetes).
A survey from the Alzheimerβs Society suggests that nearly 80% of care homes have seen a deterioration in the health of their residents with dementia due to the lack of social contact.
