Episode 3
Sam and Shauna create some spectacular dishes using goat for the Aberystwyth fire station crew. It’s an unusual meat for some, so can they win over the doubters?
Chefs Sam Evans and Shauna Guinn celebrate the work of the small but dedicated team of firefighters at Aberystwyth fire station. Many of them give up hours of free time to be permanently on-call in an emergency, as well as juggling families and regular full-time jobs. In 2018, many of these firefighters put their lives on the line when they saved nine adults and three children from a burning hotel on the seafront.
Now with the help of Sam and Shauna, they are turning their hands to cooking with fire. Using locally sourced goat they use hay to bake a leg with creole sauce and a spicy Cajun tabbouleh. Then they grill chops with a smooth garlic and blue cheese yogurt dip. It’s an unusual meat for some, but they hope to win over any doubters with these tasty recipes!
Sam and Shauna get into uniform to take part in a training session with the fire crew, including taking a ride in the huge aerial appliance that can pump seven baths full of water every sixty seconds.
