Coronavirus: The staff camping out at their care home

As it became clear just how serious coronavirus was for elderly people, staff at one care home in the Isle of Wight in the UK decided to take drastic action. They imposed a complete lockdown with nine members of staff living on the premises - three of them camping in the garden. Now local people and businesses have donated caravans to make their lives just slightly easier.

Holly Stringer, Head of Care at the Victoria House care home, says it was the least they could do for their residents. "How scary for them to be in a care home, be elderly and vulnerable. They're watching this on the news, they're seeing the figures."
