Hong Kong: Has lockdown brought common cause or infringement of rights?

Today Hong Kong is beginning to ease lockdown measures more than two weeks of reporting no new Covid-19 infections. The measures will see fitness centres, beauty salons, cinemas and some schools open, and larger groups will be allowed to gather.

However, those who have been involved in anti-government demonstrations say the pandemic measures have been used to clampdown down on their protests. Some small demonstrations, including singing protesters in shopping malls, have started again as restrictions are eased.
