How to run a protest against changes to abortion law under lockdown
Human rights groups in Poland have accused the government of using the coronavirus lockdown to try to push through changes to existing laws which would further restrict access to legal abortions and criminalising sex education in schools.
Three years ago, the Polish government abandoned attempts to change the law in the face of mass demonstrations. As these are now banned, women are taking to the internet and their cars to protest. Tactics include hanging posters from balconies, wearing black on shopping trips and holding umbrellas out of car windows.
Marta Gorczynska, a human rights lawyer in Warsaw, explains their methods and what the proposals would mean.
