Drawing Helps Me See the World Again

A car crash led to Jo 'Sunshine' Adamson losing most of her vision and becoming homeless. Eight years later, she rediscovered art and draws vibrant, colourful images every day.

Jo β€˜Sunshine’ Adamson loved drawing and sketching as a young woman, until a car crash left her with injuries that, for a while, meant she could no longer create art. Jo is visually impaired, having only a little vision left in one eye.

After the accident, her life as she knew it fell apart - she lost her job, then her home, and found herself begging on the streets. For eight years Jo didn’t draw, but then she moved into new accommodation and had a canvas big enough to see - the walls. Having rediscovered her love of art, Jo draws daily vibrant crayon images of the equally vibrant life she now leads.
