The Swan
A very special solo performance by CΓ©line Gittens, Principal Dancer at Birmingham Royal Ballet. This βgiftβ, The Swan, specially adapted and introduced by Carlos Acosta, βis a dance about life, about hopeβ.
Music is from pianist Jonathan Higgins and cellist AntΓ³nio Novais, while Gittens takes centre-stage.
Originally titled The Dying Swan, this poignant piece was choreographed by Mikhail Fokine and set to Camille Saint-SaΓ«ns's Le Cygne from Le carnaval des animaux for legendary ballerina Anna Pavlova. The ending has been re-choreographed by Director of Birmingham Royal Ballet, Carlos Acosta, for the company's ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ From ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ series. It is presented here as part of Culture in Quarantine from ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Arts.
