Reading FC: Yakou Meite on playing for his father
The Royals striker speaks exclusively to Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Berkshire about the loss of his dad.
Yakou Meite's father passed away last month, before the striker scored an emotional goal against Cardiff on his return to action.
"It was very emotional, and I still score for him," Meite told Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Berkshire's Tim Dellor about the goal against Cardiff in the FA Cup fourth round. "I don't only play for myself, I play for him, I play for my family.
"He was watching every game. When I was scoring, he was happy.
"I know he's proud of me, so I will [continue to] do my best to make him proud, and to score goals.
"I want to say thank you again to everyone who text me and helped me, it was a tough time, and I shared it with the people."
