Children of immigrants face the duality of having a homeland despite not being born there

Spoken word piece through which the lives of children of immigrants that live with the duality of having a homeland, despite not being born there, are explored. These young people are still being presented with the same obstacles of race that their parents have had to deal with but through the art of belonging.
Taking memories from his own past, the poet cultivates and recreates an audio environment found in his own home within the Heart of Birmingham. In the poem reference is made to to this "Heart" which in itself is about the collective experience of being born here despite not being treated as if you are.
