Is gluaiseacht é na Sanctuary Runners a bhailíonn teifigh agus iarrthóirí tearmainn atá sa chóras Sólathar Díreach le chéile le daoine áitiúla le bheith ag rith gualainn le gualainn le chéile, agus is as an tús simplí sin a eascraíonn an cairdeas go héasca. Tá an ghluaiseacht anois ag scapadh ar fud na hÉireann. Labhraíonn Fearghal Mag Uiginn le triúr reathaí a bhíonn ag rith le chéile i mBaile an Chollaigh, Contae Chorcaí, - Niamh Ní Chonchúir, Busie Mhlophe ar as an tSiombáb ó dhúchas di, agus Shane O’Flynn.
The Sanctuary Runners movement aims to bring refugees and asylum seekers living in the Direct Provision system together with local residents with the aim simply to run alongside each other. From that humble beginning countless friendships have been formed, and the movement is now expanding all over Ireland. Fearghal Mag Uiginn talks to three regulars at the run in Ballincollig, Co. Cork: Busie Mhlophe who is originally from Zimbabwe, and two other “blow-ins” – Niamh Ní Chonchúir from An Daingean, County Kerry, and Shane O’Flynn from Clonmel, County Tipperary.
