This series follows Jordan, Kian and Tommy as they live their lives on electronic tag. Itβs a chance to do less time behind bars or avoid a prison sentence altogether, but it means a strict home curfew and thatβs not easy to cope with for these young offenders and as 30% of tag orders are breached every year itβs clear theyβre not alone. βI feel like a caged animalβ says Kian who used to practice free running in his home town of St Helenβs on Merseyside.
Kian, 17, has been tagged after being caught carrying a machete. Heβs also facing another court appearance for being a passenger in a stolen car, but when he accidentally breaks his tag whilst riding a bike, he fears dire consequences and faces his first prison sentence. His 18 year old girlfriend Jen is worried that he wonβt cope with being inside, and is determined to stick by him.
Jordan, 18, from Warrington is on tag following early release from juvenile detention after being convicted of stealing a car. As a part of his tag conditions he must obey a strict curfew and be inside by 9pm. But Jordan who has been in care for 8 years, has had problems at his flat and his violent lifestyle has made his housing insecure. Without a permanent address he risks being imprisoned, his freedom seems to be slipping away.
Tommy, whoβs in his 30βs, lives on the Wirral. Heβs on tag following a fight, but heβs due in court on suspicion of robbery and fears a lengthy prison sentence. Itβs hard to find work on tag and financial problems have left Tommy dependent on food banks and having to sell the contents of his flat just to get by.
